BH- Basic Obedience title, usually given in Germany, and a prerequisite to higher levels of training.

B - equivalent to a BH, but given in the US.

CD - obedience degree offered by the AKC. Requires the dog to pass 3 times before being awarded the title. Each pass is called a leg.

CDX -advanced obedience degree. (AKC)

UD - Utility dog test sanctioned by the AKC.

UDX - Utility dog excellence. These titles must be earned in sequence and represent increasing levels of difficulty and added requirements

AD - Endurance test. Dog will run 20K (about 12mi) in 2 hours without excessive fatigue or wear. (German & German style)

FH - Advanced tracking degree, including two levels with increased difficulty, FH and FH II. (German & German style)

TD - Tracking dog, a tracking title offered by the AKC.

TDX - Tracking dog excellent. Advanced degree of tracking.

SchH - Schutzhund is working dog sport comprised of 3 disciplines; tracking, obedience and protection. All 3 sections count equally, and all 3 must be passed in order to earn the degree. SchH is tested in 3 progressively harder levels, earning the degree SchH I, SchH II, SchH III, with level III being the hardest.

IPO - working dog sport very similar to SchH with some variations, but the same overall purpose.

Ztp - Breed suitability test. Any Rottweiler that will produce puppies registered with the ADRK must first pass the Ztp. The requirements for the test include: a hip (and now elbow) rating, a BH degree, conformational evaluation that includes weight and measurement. The dog must be free of disqualifying faults. The remainder of the test is a temperament test. The results of this test are published in the "Kor" book and become a permanent record. The report will also be printed on the pedigree of the dog's offspring.

BST - Breed suitability test offered by the USRC to emulate the Ztp.

Gekört - Advanced breed suitability test offered twice a year by the ADRK. This is the considered the highest measure of a dog's worth. The event at which the dog is tested is called the Korung. The title the dog carries after passing is Gekört.

HT, HTC, HIT - These are herding related titles.

CGC - Canine Good Citizen. A temperament test designed to demonstrate a dogs ability to behave properly in social situations.

TT - Temperament test.

RTD - Registered therapy dog.
